  • I reserve the right to modify the terms of service entailed in this website as long as I give you prior notice.
  • Students are responsible for making sure that their lesson material and attachments have not gone astray. I am not responsible for any losses incurred by students if they miss an email, a text message or call from me.
  • Sessions for underage students must be scheduled by an adult, parent or guardian acting on their behalf.
  • For GCSE Spanish, A-level Spanish and other school courses, please take in consideration that a student's success at any school subject is a joint effort on the part of the school teacher, the parent/guardian(s), the student and the tutor. Once a student finishes their lesson with me, I am unable to supervise their work. Parents/guardian may not know Spanish, but they can certainly make sure that my instructions and the school teacher's are followed at home.
  • I am exceedingly polite, patient and have a happy disposition, so I expect to be treated fairly: any kind of rudeness or unreasonable behaviour from students/parents will result in immediate termination of their tuition.
  • Depending on what we agree, fees may be locked for 12-18 months except where (a) student(s) have a break of 3 weeks or more; in which case, they will go back the queue of my waiting list and a new quote based on my current variable rate will be given to them.

Face-to-face tuition

  • I am very understanding of exceptional, personal and/or unforeseen circumstances that may require cancelling or rescheduling a lesson; in such a case, there will be no penalty or charge for my students.
  • I will accept any rescheduling or cancellation requests with more than 24 hours’ notice. This gives me time to find another student to take your slot.
  • However, I reserve the right to terminate the tuition of any student who frequently reschedules and/or cancels lessons or otherwise shows a lack of commitment.
  • Lessons cannot be rescheduled partially.
  • Lessons are normally paid on completion unless agreed otherwise.
  • In exceptional cases or circumstances, I may cancel or reschedule your lesson, in which case, I would let you know as soon as possible.
  • Sometimes students may need a break from their tuition for various reasons such as: medical, school, financial, holidays, leisure, etc. In such circumstances, I am only able to keep their place for a maximum of two weeks unless agreed otherwise. If a longer break is required, their place will be allocated to a new student.
  • Reliable and punctual students always have priority when booking time slots.

Online tuition
  • Lessons are paid for in advance via Paypal, bank transfer, cash or through my website scheduler.
  • Online sessions are typically delivered on 'Google Meet' (video-conferencing application, part of 'Google services') as I have a Google Workspace license. However, I am happy to try other video-conferencing apps as long as I am able to share my screen on them and we are not time-constrained (e.g. 'Zoom' will terminate calls after 40 continuous minutes).
  • If bookings are made on my website scheduler, Stripe will process the payment upfront only via a suitable debit/credit card or Google Pay.
  • For Paypal, bank transfers and cash students, I do not do lessons on credit: if I I have not recieved payment at least one hour before the session, it will not take place.
  • Each online lesson can be rescheduled only once. For this, I will accept a single rescheduling request per lesson with more than 12 hours' notice. This gives me time to find another student to take the time slot.
  • If you reschedule with less notice or fail to attend the lesson, you will forfeit your fee(s).
  • If scheduled directly through my website, lessons can be cancelled with more than 12 hours' notice. However, you will only be refunded the initial payment(s) minus Stripe fees (1.5% + £0.20 per transaction). As a gesture of goodwill, I will not charge you any administrative fees.
  • You may be able to reschedule the lesson with less than 12 hours' notice if you provide evidence of unforeseen special circumstances, e.g. a medical emergency.
  • Lessons cannot be rescheduled partially.
  • If for any circumstance, you put your tuition on hold for more than two weeks, I cannot guarantee to retain your place as I have a waiting list of students.
  • In exceptional cases or circumstances, I may cancel or reschedule your lesson, in which case, I would let you know as soon as possible.
After you have made (an) online booking(s)
  • Congratulations on taking proactive steps on your Spanish learning journey!
  • Once the lesson(s) is/are booked, you will receive (an) invitation(s) to join your session(s) as well as two automated reminders per booking in the email account you used to sign up: the first, one day prior to the session and the second, two hours before the lesson takes place.
  • Please join the video conference by using the invitation you received in your email.
  • Prior to your sessions, I will email you instructions on how to prepare for them.
  • Please be punctual. I often have a busy work schedule and classes back to back.
  • Prior to each lesson, please, check the capabilities and settings of your device and communication tool(s), e.g. computer, tablet, video-conferencing app(s), microphone, speakers, camera, etc.
  • Also, please check the connection levels of your router prior to the lesson. The suggested minimum speed necessary to efficiently hold video calls on any communication apps is 8MB for upstreaming and 12MB for downstreaming. You can use this link to test your internet connection: www.speedtest.net.
  • If technical issues of any sort originate from my side during the lesson, I shall make up for the lesson; however, I am not responsible for issues that originate from the student’s side.
